Mental Health Counselor

Mental Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an outpatient counselor in the Adult Mental Health Division, serving transition-aged youth. Located at our Kinesis North program in Escondido, this master’s level position is part-time with clinical supervision towards licensure provided.





The Mental Health Counselor provides individual and group counseling. Counselors promote higher levels of wellness, stability and quality of life, assist in the prevention of acute psychiatric episodes or substance abuse relapses requiring hospitalization, and help clients to lessen the debilitating symptoms of mental illness and/or substance abuse. Provides a variety of services and interventions including engagement and outreach, assessment, group and individual counseling, crisis intervention, symptom management information and case management to each client. Initiates appropriate and timely interventions to address the special needs of the transition-aged youth population.





Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling with at least two years related experience. Valid CA Driver’s License required.

This is non-exempt position which requires a confident and professionally established individual with comprehensive administrative experience. A great attitude, flexibility, and strong work ethics are essential for this role.
