Independent Living Skills (ILS) Instructor – San Diego area (Chula Vista to Poway)







Community Options is a non-profit organization whose primary goal is to assist individuals with disabilities seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce and/or live independently in their communities. By working closely with our clients, our ILS instructors implement individual approaches to help each client improve and enhance the quality of their lives.



We are looking for an ILS instructor who is comfortable working with all types of people and who is able to provide support and instruction to clients with developmental disabilities in areas of life skills including (but not limited to) household maintenance, money management, use of community resources, meal planning and preparation, health and safety, and survival academics. The ability to process paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion required.



Candidate must have a reliable vehicle for travel to client’s homes in assigned caseload. Experience teaching parenting skills, fluency in American Sign Language and Spanish are also preferred.



Flexible schedule, part-time with the possibility to expand to full-time caseload as the program grows.



$9-12 an hour (based on experience)





This is a great opportunity for students seeking a degree in the social services or health care field.





Required:

• High School diploma or GED

• Knowledge of MS Word

• Clean DMV record

• Clean background check

• Reliable Transportation

• Must be reliable, trustworthy, with a positive attitude and a willingness to serve others
