This Informix DBA position is with the OEI application hosting team and is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of IT hosting solutions based on HPUX v.11 /Informix IDS v. 10 technology in support of the Consumer Tax business. The main responsibilities include Informix IDS database administration and HPUX systems administration.



- Provide Informix database design/implementation/administration for CTG hosted services

- Provide HPUX systems administration for CTG hosted services

- Manage a complex server environment comprised of HPUX/Linux/Solaris/Windows

- Provide ongoing operational support for the CTG hosted services within the production/pre-production environments (Intuit data center) which will include on-call/off-hours work

- Gather requirements, design, and implement IT hosting solutions that align with the defined Intuit technology standards

- Assists in documenting team processes, projects, and tools and using defined standards and techniques to accomplish day to day activities

- Perform customer interface and communication role to bridge the gap between internal IT teams and the CTG business unit

- Completes projects as requested utilizing project management principals

- Function as on-call or backup for other staff members as requested

- Utilizes and is familiar with change management guidelines and principles

5+ plus years IT experience in UNIX/Windows environment.

- Proficiency in Informix IDS v. 10 database technology preferred.

(design/implementation/support)

- Proficiency in HPUX OS and HP9000 server technology

- Proficiency in Veritas Filesystem, Volume Manager, and Cluster Server.

- Proficiency in network technology.

- Experience with Solaris OS and Sun server technology preferred.

- Experience with Linux OS (Redhat/SUSE) preferred.

- Experience with enterprise storage systems and SAN technology preferred.

- Experience with virtualization software (i.e. VMWARE) preferred.

- Experience with standard web/application platforms

(Apache/JBOSS/Tomcat) preferred.

- Experience in a complex data center environment preferred.

- Basic scripting/programming knowledge preferred.

- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors

- Must exercise judgment and proactively look for more cost efficient solutions. Normally receives general instructions on new assignments and must be able to deliver complex solutions.
