Position Summary:
SupplyPro, Inc. seeks a Senior Visual Basic 6 Software Engineer position to lead a small team of VB6-ASP developers in maintaining and support a legacy VB6-ASP, 24/7, inventory control system. You will work with project staff to implement upgrades and support customers with up to 30% of time spent on Production Support tasks for critical problems. Additionally, you will assist in the development of a new .NET system coming online in 2008. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of code created by the Development team. You will ensure that this code is well-documented and easy to maintain. You will accurately track and report progress throughout the development life cycle. The selected candidate will have a proven track-record of developing and maintaining complex back-office solutions that integrate database applications with a variety of web services and interfaces.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
· At least 5 years experience as a Senior Software Engineer using VB6 and Active Server Pages
· At least 5 years experience developing with Microsoft SQL Server
· At least 5 years developing and supporting high-volume, distributed, web-based architecture
· At least 2 years experience building object-oriented systems using UML
· At least 1 year experience developing C# Microsoft .NET systems
· At least 1 year experience with ASP.NET
· Strong understanding of requirements discovery and elaboration
· Strong ability to document code and designs in a clear, concise fashion
· Experience with automated testing tools such as nUnit
· Experience developing Web Services (SOAP, WSDL)
· Experience in an Agile environment
· B.S. in computer science or related field
· Excellent English skills, written and spoken
