XyberNET, Inc. is an established San Diego based firm located in Scripps Ranch. XyberNET is a leader in the production of mainframe & PC software systems as well as an ASP outsourcing services for the insurance industry.



This software engineer will participate in the design/coding/testing of some of our newer insurance applications. Responsibilities include the development, testing, and implementation.

Technical Requirements:

• Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or Engineering degree.

• Minimum 2 years full-time .NET experience in an enterprise environment.

• Sound understanding of the .NET framework.

• Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming.

• Familiar with the .NET 2.0 framework’s capabilities and features.

• 2-plus years experience with both ASP.NET development and C# Component Development. Proficiency in JavaScript, XHTML, CSS and AJAX techniques.

• 2-plus years experience working with XML, XSD, and Web Service Development. XSLT experience is desired.

• 2-plus years of SQL Server 2000/2005, T-SQL, stored procedures. Data integration and Business Intelligence background, including DTS/SISS skills would be helpful. Experience with ADO.NET and ORM frameworks such as NHibernate.

• Experience working in an enterprise development environment using service oriented architecture.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with project management and business management to identify and specify the business requirements for a particular project.

• Researches and evaluates alternative solutions, and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for the systems/program design and develops system specifications and procedures.

• Translates business requirements into functional and technical specifications. With some guidance – devises, tests, and implements efficient cost effective application solutions.

• Devises data verification methods and standard systems procedures and participates in systems testing.

• Prepares program test data, unit tests and debugs programs.

• Documents all procedures used throughout the computer program when it is formally established.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering. Related degree may be considered.

• Two or more years experience in systems analysis and application program development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Requires experience with application development support software packages, proficiency in programming languages, good judgment and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staff.

• Must be able to work in an agile development environment and enjoy change.

• Insurance experience a plus.
