Overview:





We are seeking an experienced J2EE developer to assist with the maintenance, extension, and testing of an enterprise web application. This is a permanent position.





Description:


VivanTech, Inc is maintaining and extending an existing J2EE enterprise web application that is essential to our client’s 24/7 operation.





We are looking for a professional software engineer with 2+ years of hands-on experience developing robust web applications using J2EE (EJB, Struts Framework, Servlets, JSP) running on Websphere with Microsoft SQL database. (Experience with SQL Server 2000 and 2005 and Websphere is preferred.)





Experience Required:


- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in server-side web development


- 2+ years of experience with J2EE (Servlets, JSP, EJB, Hibernate, Struts Framework, WSAD IDE) and MS SQL Server


- Experience working through the entire software development lifecycle and CVS


- Experience working in a software consulting firm with clients to develop custom business applications


- Experience developing web site front-ends with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS





Skills Required:


- Good understanding of OOD and OOP


- Excellent verbal and written communication skills


- Strong interpersonal skills


- Demonstrated ability to work independently and to be accountable for your work


- Comfort with an open collaboration model in which all team members take shared responsibility for the quality of the system's design, code, automated testing procedures, and documentation


- BA/BS from a four-year university/college or equivalent professional work experience
