Engineering Intern- Digital TV

This is an Intern position with Wind River Services in San Diego.



Wind River’s digital video services team is building a comprehensive automated test framework used for verification and validation of set top box equipment prior to consumer release. The Digital TV Engineer works under the direction of the project manager or team lead to develop, test, integrate and document library functions and automated tests using JavaScript and XML code.





Major Responsibilities:

· Analyze existing manual test procedures and design automated scripts to replace the manual procedure.

· Implement the scripts using JavaScript and XML code under the Customer’s Development and Test Environment.

· Write, test debug and document Test Scripts to ensure they are functional

· Assist senior Wind River Engineering Staff in identifying additional ‘library’ functions required to automate testing, and assist in designing, testing and documenting new library functions.





Contribution & Initiative:

· The applicant is expected to show initiative in designing efficient and maintainable code implementations. Senior staff will provide mentoring and encourage the applicant’s technical growth.



Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

· Requires Bachelors degree in Computer Science, electronic engineering or related subject area.

· This position requires 1-2 years JavaScript or Flash and XML programming experience.

· Previous experience in Software testing, Linux and Digital Television are a plus

· The qualified candidate will be independent, self-driven and eager to learn new skills

· The job requires solid people skills for interaction with Wind River services project teams

· The qualified candidate will have a track record of successful execution of assigned development tasks
