This place is excellent. The food at Ba Ren is often covered in spices and things that are there, and perhaps even necessary, for flavoring, but not really edible. I'm talking about things like those hot, dried, red peppers or lemon grass. Listen, if those things have to be in the food to make it the right way, well then, I understand. But it does make your food something you have to pick through, rather than something you can just sit back and enjoy.

Still, the food is fantastic and is, basically, the way Chinese (or at least Szechuan) food ought to be. I recommend it highly. But it's not for the faint of heart or palette.
