Let first say the show was great! No problem with the show or the venue.
But the service at the Lyceum was TERRIBLE!
I made the mistake of purchasing a Groupon for the show I saw today.
I called after I got the Groupon and got what I thought were reservation..
NOT TRUE… the seats I had thought were assigned to me were in fact not an assigment.
When I showed up at Will Call to get “my seats” the counter help pulled them off a roll of tickets. When I asked about my seats I was told that my seats were probably given to someone who paid full price for them.
When I said that not honoring seat assignments was a “bad business practice” the counter help said (in a very condescending manner) that it was a very good business practice. The policy according to this elderly man was to relocate Groupon as needed to accomodate full paying customers.
I love live theater a go to 6 – 10 plays a year. I knew the venue was intimate and always wondered why I never patronized the Lyceum. The idea of having dinner or lunch (in this case) and a play downtown appealed to me.
Now I am not sure if I EVER want to go to the Lyceum again.
I certainly don’t desire to be treated like that ever again. The treatment I recieved almost ruined what should have been a great afternoon.
